Traditional Majun combines Ashwagandha, Safed Musli, Shatavari, Kaunch Beej, Gokshura and Shilajit as its main herbs, with Jaiphal (nutmeg) and Dalchini (cinnamon) as warming, supporting spices, all blended into a semi-solid herbal jam. It is a wellness formulation, not a medicine, and each ingredient has its own cautions (listed below). In Svarnsakti Majun Total 108 ingredient available but only key ingredients discuss here.
Many pages about majun make big promises without telling you what is actually in the jar. This guide does the opposite. It lists every ingredient in Majun, explains what each one is traditionally used for, why it is in the formula, and who should be careful with it.
Important: Majun is a traditional herbal formulation for general wellness, stamina and daily vitality. It is not a drug and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. If you have a health concern, take medicines, or are pregnant, speak to a doctor or qualified Ayurvedic practitioner first.

What Is Majun?
Majun (also written ma'jun) is a semi-solid herbal confection made by blending powdered herbs, roots and resins into a sweet base. The format is used in both Unani medicine and Ayurveda, where the closest classical form is the avaleha or leha (a herbal jam). It was designed so that bitter or hard-to-digest herbs could be taken easily, usually with warm milk or water, and consistently over weeks.

Each Majun Ingredient Explained
1. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)

Ashwagandha is one of the best-known Rasayana (rejuvenating) herbs in Ayurveda and is called an adaptogen, meaning it is traditionally used to help the body cope with everyday physical and mental stress.
- Traditional use: Strength, stamina and resilience during periods of exertion or fatigue.
- Why it is in Majun: It acts as the base tonic herb that the rest of the formula is built around.
- What the research says: A well-known 2012 randomised trial in adults with chronic stress found a standardised root extract was associated with lower stress scores and lower serum cortisol compared with placebo (Chandrasekhar et al., see References). Results vary by product and dose.
- Be careful if: you are pregnant, have a thyroid condition, take sedatives or thyroid medicines, or have a history of liver problems.
2. Safed Musli (Chlorophytum borivilianum)

Safed Musli is a tuberous root rich in saponins and mucilage, often called a "white gold" herb because of the pale colour of the dried root.
- Traditional use: A general tonic (Balya) for strength and endurance.
- Why it is in Majun: Its nourishing, mucilage-rich nature complements Ashwagandha and Shatavari.
- Be careful if: you take diabetes or blood-pressure medicines; talk to your doctor first. Human clinical evidence is limited, so treat it as a traditionally used herb.
3. Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus)

Shatavari is best known in women's wellness, but classical texts also value it as a cooling, nourishing Rasayana in men's tonics.
- Traditional use: Overall tissue nourishment and restoring balance.
- Why it is in Majun: It is not the lead herb. It balances the "heating" herbs (Kaunch Beej, Dalchini) so the blend stays gentle.
- Be careful if: you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take diuretics.
4. Kaunch Beej (Mucuna pruriens, velvet bean)

Kaunch Beej is one of the most recognised herbs in traditional men's formulations and is classified in Ayurveda as a Vajikarana herb, a category linked with vigor, strength and reproductive wellness.
- Traditional use: Male vitality and strength, often paired with Gokshura and Ashwagandha.
- Why it is in Majun: It is considered one of the defining herbs of a traditional male tonic. In Ayurveda the seeds are processed (shodhana) before use.
- What the research says: The seeds naturally contain L-DOPA, a compound studied in Parkinson's disease (Katzenschlager et al., see References). This is exactly why interactions matter.
- Be careful if: you take medicines for Parkinson's, depression (especially MAOIs) or psychiatric conditions, or have a heart condition or melanoma history. Always ask your doctor.
5. Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris)

Gokshura is a small spiny fruit used across Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and now appears in sports-nutrition products too.
- Traditional use: Urinary and reproductive system wellness, and general strength.
- Why it is in Majun: Classical formulas pair it with Kaunch Beej and Ashwagandha, where the three are understood to work together.
- Be careful if: you take diabetes or blood-pressure medicines, or are pregnant. Modern studies on its effect are mixed, so we describe only its traditional role.
6. Shilajit

Shilajit is a mineral-rich resin that seeps from Himalayan rock in warmer months. It contains fulvic acid and trace minerals and is classed as a Rasayana substance rather than a herb. Classical texts call it the "destroyer of weakness".
- Traditional use: Sustained energy, stamina and vitality with consistent use.
- Why it is in Majun: It is the mineral backbone of the formula.
- What the research says: A small human study of a processed shilajit looked at male reproductive markers (Pandit et al., see References). More research is still needed.
- Be careful if: you have iron overload (haemochromatosis) or low blood pressure. Purity matters: raw, unprocessed shilajit can carry heavy metals, so only choose products that are purified and lab tested.

7. Jaiphal (Nutmeg, Myristica fragrans)

Jaiphal is the dried seed of the nutmeg tree. In avaleha formulas it is a warming spice added in small measured quantities, not as a primary active herb.
- Traditional use: Supports digestion and is described as mildly calming.
- Why it is in Majun: It works as an anupana (enhancer), traditionally thought to support the uptake of heavier herbs like Ashwagandha and Shilajit.
- Be careful if: you are pregnant. Nutmeg in large quantities can be toxic, so never exceed the serving on the label.
8. Dalchini (Cinnamon, Cinnamomum verum)

Dalchini is true cinnamon bark, a classical warming spice used in a supporting role.
- Traditional use: Supports circulation and digestion.
- Why it is in Majun: It offsets cooling herbs such as Shatavari and makes the jam more pleasant to take every day.
- Be careful if: you take blood-sugar medicines. (Cassia cinnamon contains more coumarin than true cinnamon; check which type a product uses.)

How to Check the Quality of Any Majun
- Is every ingredient named? Avoid "proprietary blend" labels.
- Are amounts listed? A name without quantity tells you little.
- Is there a licence number? It should be printed on the pack and verifiable.
- Is there a lab report (COA)? Especially for heavy metals, since Shilajit is involved.
- Are the claims realistic? Be wary of anything promising to "cure" a condition or give instant results.
